Entry & Parking: You will be provided an
entry pass at packet pickup. This pass is required
for entry into Boerne City Lake. If you do not have
your pass, you will be required to pay an $8 entry
fee. Race organizers will not reimburse for this
expense. Please park tightly to allow access by all
vehicles. |

DIRECTIONS TO THE RACE SITE: From San
Antonio: Take IH10 west; exit Ranger Creek Road.
Turn Left under the I-10 overpass. You will then
come to a stop sign…turn right on to I-10 access
road, then turn left on Upper Cibolo Creek Rd.
following the signs to Boerne City Lake. |

Note about the Lake Temperature: Due to the
unusually cold winter in Texas you should expect
lake water temperature to be approximately 63-64
degrees on race day. Wetsuits are encouraged as
well as polar swim caps. Wetsuit strippers will be
available at swim exit to assist athletes with
removal. |

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Packet Pickup Times: Packet pickup is on
Friday March 26th from 4-7pm and Saturday
March 27th from noon to 7pm. You will
need your ID to get your race #’s. No ID=No Race.
You will also be required to show a valid USAT card
or purchase a one day membership for $10. Do not
hassle race crew about this policy; this is a USAT
sanctioned event. No exceptions.
Race
day packet pickup will be provided ONLY to current
USAT members. Please note there will be a $10
convenience charge for this service payable in cash

TRANSITION AREA INFORMATION:
Per USAT rules:
-
Athletes must be body marked and have been
checked for race #’s, helmet and bar plugs
before entering transition.
-
Water safety volunteers on kayaks will be in the
water during the swim for athlete safety.,
however swim assistance is not allowed. Should
you need to rest you may stop at one of the
kayaks, but no forward progression will be
allowed.

Bike course will be monitored for athlete safety
and rule compliance. No drafting will be
allowed.

Bikes will not be allowed out of transition
until the final cyclist has completed the bike
course. Please be courteous to your fellow
triathletes.

SPECTATOR INFORMATION
Spectators are welcome to roam the course and cheer
on their friends and family. Bring camp chairs,
snacks etc. and enjoy the lake. Please be advised
that unless you enter the park with your athlete you
will be required to pay the lake entry fee of $8. |

POST EVENT BBQ: RUDY’S BBQ has partnered
with the Tall Texan to provide all athletes and up
to three others a complimentary meal following the
race. You will be receiving a coupon in your race
packet. Don’t forget to bring it along so you can
treat your supporters the best BBQ in Texas!

WEATHER CONTINGENCY PLAN: In the event
of foul weather, the start time of this event may be
delayed by up to one hour. Should the weather
conditions be unsafe for the swim this event will be
changed to a duathlon with distances of
5k/56mi/13.1mi. The duathlon will use a mass start
rather than waves. Should weather make it too
dangerous for cycling the event will become a half
marathon. This event has a no rollover no refund
policy. |
