bicycles are developed, built, tested and delivered with utmost
efficiency and to exacting standards. At FOCUS we strive to match the
engineering, performance and quality standards set by our countrymen in
the automotive industry, legendary marques like Audi, BMW, Mercedes
Benz and Porsche. FOCUS bikes don’t just
kick up a storm on the street. With innovative frame concepts
and intelligent features our designs are creating a storm
internationally. The unique feel of a precisely engineered FOCUS
bike is forged out of a combination of design expertise and
racing passion. High-tech bikes do not begin life in a computer,
but in the heads and hearts of a team of dedicated engineers and
professional racers. Their combined experience is drawn together
into the initial ideas and sketches that create the initial
frame geometry and measurements. The 3D computer simulation
following from that obtains the look, stiffness and weight. Then
endless testing and refinement finally produce a bike ready
for any challenge.
After the development phase each FOCUS bike descends to our test
laboratory. In this ‘torture chamber’ we drive our racing
machines to the limits of physical performance. First they
endure 500 hours of bumpy track and 250 kilometres uphill of
simulated riding with heavy load. Each component is evaluated to
meet strict standards in stability, stiffness and durability.
Only when the frame and all the components have withstood the
strict gaze and hefty pedalling of our professional testers does
a bike earn the name FOCUS. |
